Maximize the Impact of Your Setting

A Rancho Santa Fe couple lost their home in the 2007 wild fires. When they made plans to rebuild, they wanted to bring in the colors and textures from their fabulous view overlooking Lake Hodges, viewed from floor-to-ceiling windows along the east side of the home. For the kitchen, they chose granite counter tops that echoed the gold, tan,and olive tones of the surrounding countryside. Their cabinetry is a warm cherry and accent paint is a soft sage green. Guests flow through the kitchen for beverages and hors d’oeuvres and are drawn out to the deck to enjoy the home’s magnificent setting. Reflecting the colors from the view creates a seamless transition to the outside and gives a feeling that the home is at one with the landscape, making the best of Southern California’s indoor/outdoor gracious living.
